Advance registration at the "People-Powered Media (un)Workshop" is now open. The event is free, but attendance is limited--so register now.

(Walk-in registration will be available at the event on a space available basis.)

The "People-Powered Media (un)Workshop" is an unconference style event created to explore how community media can be used as a tool for information, organization, and action. In an unconference format the attendees generate the agenda, the sessions and the discussion. If you are a journalist, artist, technologist, community advocate, creator or just a citizen then the "People-Powered Media (un)Workshop" will have something for you.

The Greater Austin Community Media Action Group is an offshoot of the Texas Community Media Summit, an event held at the University of Texas at Austin on March 1, 2008, that brought together community media makers, stakeholders, activists, and advocates from across Texas. The 2nd Texas Community Media Summit is being planned for Saturday, February 21, 2009.
